Franchise
Joining the "royal court" of the King's Paint & Hardware Group of
companies offers entrepreneurs the ideal vehicle to truly own and manage
their own business. Having experienced the day-to-day frustrations,
politics and exorbitant franchise fees charged by players in the paint
retail industry first hand, Gary Hinde endeavoured to build a company
that is flexible, successful and profitable to all its store owners.
There are currently two options available for individuals wishing to
join King's Paint:
- purchasing a business model; or alternatively
- converting an existing paint store.
Becoming Part of the King's Paint Franchise
Becoming part of a Franchise such as King's Paint can be one of the most
rewarding and profitable careers for anyone from any walk of life. There
are, however, a few considerations that must be taken into account by
any would-be investor. In order to effectively evaluate whether or not
you'd be successful as a King's Paint store owner, you have to know your
own strengths and weaknesses:
- Start by creating your own personal model of who you are
How do you see your business life and personal lifestyle as the
owner of a King's Paint store? What are you good at, and why?
- Be honest about who you are and what you want
If you don't want to sacrifice your week-ends or deal with staff
then make a note of your objections.
- Do you understand what will be expected of you?
- King's Paint & Hardware will provide you with the blue-print
for business success - you will have to do the rest.
- Do you have the endurance needed to stay the course, even in the
tough times?
Running your own business, has its ups and downs. Are you prepared?
- Do you have family support?
Owning a King's Paint & Hardware store is a full-time job
requiring sacrifices of personal and family time. Family members
should be supportive of the decision to buy into this opportunity.
- Am I willing to completely follow the King's Paint system?
/Whilst the Franchise model allows store owners more
decision-making power and autonomy than a franchise, duplication
and adherence to the King's Paint formula is key to our ongoing
success. Store owners have to be prepared to conform to those rules.
- Can I afford the investment?
One of the major causes of business failure is under
capitalization. Make sure you have enough money to not only open
the business, but run it until it turns a profit.
