Paint Hardware

If you are a DIY enthusiast about to paint your own home you are very quickly going to realise that paint is not the only commodity that you will need – there’s also a whole lot of paint hardware that is essential to any house painting activity.

• Paint
• Primer (optional – if necessary – our representative will advise you)
• Paint Brushes (suggest 1 wide - 3 inch and 1 narrow - 1 inch for "cut in" and trim)
• Paint Roller
• Extension Pole (for ceilings and high walls)
• Paint Tray (metal is best)
• Polyfilla
• Putty Knife (2 inch, 4 inch, or 6 inch, depending on size of holes)
• Sandpaper
• Plastic or dust sheets to cover furniture and floors
• Masking tape
• Step ladder(s)
• Thinners
• Paint removers

Preparing the room to be painted will bring you in touch with the paint hardware for the first time. You’ll need to remove all of the light switch and socket plates (there’s another piece of paint hardware not listed above – a screw driver! Take out all the chairs, tables – in fact all the loose fittings and fixtures if they’re going to be in the way. Cover the entire floor with dustsheets or plastic sheeting.
