Compopak Packaging Components originated in March 1998 amidst the boom of the local knock-down pine timber export game. The Rand was weak and the companies involved in export required help in packaging certain of their production lines. Compopak offered an efficient, affordable and extremely reliable contract labour solution to the problems faced by these companies, allowing them to concentrate on their own core production necessities.

During the next couple of years, having gained the respect and support of our current customer base, Compopak ventured into the national packaging game. From national success came international expansion, with our own purchasing and sourcing agent in the Far East, allowing us to compete in sourcing the necessary packaging products ourselves (not only the packaging materials, i.e. plastic, PVC, board and box).

This has enabled us to become the one-stop-shop that we are today - not just a contract packer. In 2002 Compopak merged with BOLTFIX PTY LTD, thereby increasing our local diversity with branches in Richards Bay, Bloemfontein, Pietermariztburg and Jet Park (JHB). Boltfix has recently achieved its ISO 9001- 2000 accreditation, which will be implemented throughout the rest of the group.
